Hello, welcome to my blog. I have decided to call this blog “Recalls and Ramblings.” I never realized how much thought goes into names until I started this website. I resisted the blog idea for a while until one of my favorite paintings of blue crabs popped up as a memory on my Facebook and I figured I could start with sharing some of my older works and sketchbooks. I tossed around some names and nothing really seemed right. I keep circling back to things my late grandfather said and he always said he’d like to write a book and call it “Recalls and Ramblings.” He never wrote the book, but he had a catchy title. I’m borrowing it from him and I hope to fill some empty shoes.

I’ll be 100% honest, I don’t know anything about blogging or what it is used for. For me it seems like extra work, I already keep a journal and a sketchbook, work a full-time job and try to do art in my “spare time” (whatever that is), adding a blog seems like more work. This website has already taken up a significant amount of my art time and I worry it will stay that way. However, I have found that I have more to share than just a photo on Instagram. I hope that this blog can share some more of the real side to my art and a little peek into my life.

These photos were taken at Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona a few years ago. That is our pup Gilbert and my husband Brent. I’m sure they will make it into more posts in the future. Road trips with the pup are one of our favorite things to do! I’ll share more of that later. For now, welcome!
