Memorable Moment/ Sappy Saturday #2 - A Valintine's Day watching Planes

On my first Valentine's day with my hunny in Charlotte, he told me after work to dress warmly but didn’t tell me what we were doing. We got in his truck and drove through neighborhoods and backgrounds that I'd never been in before. Finally we parked in this little parking lot off one of the side roads, and he told me to wait in the truck.

When he said I could come out, he had set up a little grill and cook station on the truck bed. We were at the airport and watched airplanes taking off and landing during sunset with Charlotte's skyline (which is a surprisingly beautiful city skyline) in the background. It was such a pleasant surprise! He brought out cheese, crackers, and wine for appetizers, made a salad, and cooked bulgogi (Korean barbecue). He even had a small vase of flowers set up as we ate.😊

A note from the Artist: this one holds a special place in my heart. The first story shared with me for this project. This was the first one that I learned just how many EXTRA details I have to follow up on. But the details I have to ask for are best left until after the story is shared. Nothing ruins a story more than excessive details… I don’t believe that statement honestly, but that’s what a painting is for, getting the details right so you don’t have to write them.
