Memorable Moments #9- Love on a film set
It's hard to know where to begin, partly because I feel like I've known Sean my entire life. We met when I was reserved and closed off to the idea of romance, let alone of falling in love. We met on a friend's film set, where I was the "AD" keeping us on schedule and safe, and Sean was the "DP," filming and lighting the project. I remember instantly feeling comfortable with him, having fun and laughing our way through the shoot.
After we finished the film, Sean offered to film a personal piece for me -- for free. After multiple meetings at a restaurant, one night a neighboring couple asked if we were "on a date," to which I quickly answered, “no.” I saw Sean's face fall. Still, he stayed nearby, working with me, and being a true companion.
I continued to resist the idea of dating until one "meeting" in a D.C. park, when he was so frustrated that he threw his notebook full of notes on the ground and demanded that I "just try" to be with him. I'm rarely speechless, but this time I was. He stood in front of me and asked why, if I didn't want to date him, I didn't simply leave. The world got quiet, and all the bystanders in the park became nearly invisible. I listened to a gut reaction deep inside, and -- kissed him.
Today we continue to produce content together and laugh more than I ever imagined I could. I'm truly grateful for his patience and friendship.
A note from the Artist: I really hope they made a movie of their story. I’d watch it.
